1,200-Tonne Steel Structure Shipment Departs For Surabaya — Indonesia's Largest Prefabricated Cold Storage Logistics Park

DALIAN, China - On July 14, 2026, 48 containers carrying 1,200 tonnes of fabricated structural steel departed Dalian Port aboard a bulk carrier bound for Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, Indonesia. The shipment forms the structural skeleton of an 18,000 m² multi-temperature cold storage logistics park - currently the largest prefabricated steel cold chain facility under construction in East Java.

 

Three Structural Challenges, Three ZSL Solutions

The facility operates across three temperature zones (-25°C / 0–4°C / 15–18°C), which pushed the design beyond standard industrial building norms:

Delivery Coordination

The 1,200-tonne shipment was divided into 12 erection sequences, with each container packed to match site assembly order - eliminating on-site sorting, reducing crane idle time, and enabling 180–200 tonnes/week assembly. Structural completion targeted within 10 weeks of first container arrival. A ZSL site supervisor will be deployed to Surabaya for the first three weeks.
